Executive Summary
To support adult learners and non-traditional students, County College of Morris established prior learning assessment (PLA) processes that award credit for relevant experience and industry credentials. The PLA model uses curriculum mapping to align SACA C-101 certification content with program courses, allowing students to earn credit through portfolio assessment or demonstration of knowledge.
Additionally, CCM developed an internal articulation agreement that enables learners who complete the Robotics and Automation Bootcamp to earn 7 college credits toward the Certificate of Achievement in Robotics, Automation, and Control program. This PLA integration accelerates credential and degree attainment, making educational advancement more accessible and affordable.
