Executive Summary
With support from the American Center for Optics Manufacturing (AmeriCom), Sussex County Community College (SCCC) hosted its second annual High School Concurrent Professional Development Workshop in June 2024. The event engaged science and STEM educators from New Jersey and New York in hands-on optics labs and career awareness activities.
The program equips high school teachers with the tools and knowledge to integrate optics concepts into their classrooms and guide students toward careers in optics manufacturing. SCCC continues to provide one-on-one support to partner faculty from Newton High School and Sussex County Technical School, among others, to build instructional capacity in this emerging field.
