Executive Summary
To support long-term career advancement and educational mobility, Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is actively developing articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities for students enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology program. This initiative coincides with the creation of a new Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Machine Tool Technology at SCCC.
As part of this effort, SCCC revised and aligned its curriculum in related technical areas, including robotics and engineering, to improve transferability and ensure that students can seamlessly continue their education beyond the associate level. These enhancements will allow students to pursue bachelor’s degrees in related technical fields without repeating coursework or losing credit.
Through these articulation agreements and curriculum improvements, the Machine Tool Technology pathway creates a clear, stackable route from certificate to associate to bachelor’s degree—equipping students for advanced roles in manufacturing and engineering.
