Executive Summary
Each college piloted components of the cybersecurity certificate pathways to evaluate content effectiveness and student success:
- RVCC piloted two online courses in Summer 2024: Networking Essentials (5 students) and Security Fundamentals (8 students). One student earned CompTIA A+ and Network+ credentials and received an internship offer from HP.
- RCBC piloted four courses including Computer Basics, Programming I, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Computer Organization and Systems Programming.
- OCC piloted three HyFlex and face-to-face courses: Cyber Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Cyber Healthcare and Compliance, and CyberOps Associate.
To support certification outcomes, funding was provided for 10 students to take credential exams. Student outcomes and feedback were used to assess the effectiveness of course materials and alignment to credentialing standards.
