Executive Summary

The Esports Production Content Creation Hub was launched as a pilot project with the ambitious goal of breaking down silos between K–12 schools, higher education, industry, government, and community-based organizations to build collaborative, scalable career pathways in esports production and content creation.

This pilot introduced a new career pathway—Esports Production: Content Creation—which includes multiple entry and exit points and is aligned with adjacent high-growth industries like cybersecurity, data science, and video/audio production. The pathway emphasizes both technical proficiency and creative storytelling, meeting the demands of a fast-evolving digital media economy.

The project mapped industry standards and credentials directly into credit and non-credit coursework at Camden County College, with Horizon AVL Esports Integration identifying certifications such as Adobe, Unreal Engine, and CompTIA to embed in the curriculum. The initiative also explored dual enrollment with high schools, transfer pathways to four-year universities, and workforce engagement through community partners and professional development.

Through this pilot, Camden County College established a statewide model for esports education and career pathways that can now be adapted and scaled by other New Jersey Community Colleges.
