Executive Summary
As part of the broader EV Technician ASE Standards project, Camden County Technical Schools developed and piloted a non-credit high school curriculum module focused on ASE Electrified Propulsion Vehicles (xEV) High Voltage Electrical Safety Standards. This module was implemented in two high school automotive classes during the 2023–2024 school year.
Students received foundational training in safety protocols, electrical system diagnostics, and the safe handling of hazardous materials—all aligned with ASE standards. The curriculum also emphasized systems such as brakes, steering, air conditioning, and drivetrain components, integrated with EV-specific learning.
Instruction was delivered by ASE-certified teachers using materials designed in partnership with Camden County College. This early exposure to EV technology ensures students are better prepared for industry certification and future academic or technical training in the EV sector.
