Strategies for Teaching Adult Learners Course Pilot
Executive Summary
Led by Atlantic Cape Community College in collaboration with Rowan College of South Jersey, the Strategies for Teaching Adult Learners Course Pilot pathway project expands professional development resources for educators who work with adult learners—an essential target population for workforce development in New Jersey’s offshore wind and renewable energy sectors.
This project builds on prior work completed in the NJ Pathways initiative and includes piloting a comprehensive course designed to improve instructional practices for educators teaching adult learners. The program introduces participants to effective strategies for adult learning, enhances knowledge of offshore wind and renewable energy opportunities, and provides tools to engage students in these high-growth industries. The asynchronous format offers flexibility for busy professionals, and participants receive a digital badge and certificate upon completion.
This pathway project supports the NJ Pathways mission by equipping instructors with the tools to better reach adult learners, ultimately strengthening workforce readiness in the renewable energy sector.
