Executive Summary
The Aseptic Processing Pathway Project provided high school students with early exposure to careers in biotechnology through a hands-on, non-credit summer bootcamp. Middlesex College hosted a six-week Biotechnology Fundamentals course beginning July 1, 2024, with 12 high school students in attendance. The program introduced students to foundational biotechnology concepts and techniques, supplemented by an on-site industry visit to provide real-world context.
This pathway connection is part of a broader strategy to build awareness and readiness for careers in aseptic processing and biomanufacturing. By connecting high school students to advanced training opportunities early, this program creates on-ramps to college and career pathways that are aligned with New Jersey’s growing life sciences sector.
